RIM requires decrease pressures (~100 psi) and temperatures (~80-150°C) than standard, non-reactive plastic injection molding. Hence, low-cost mildew tooling (i.e., made from aluminum) can be used for this method. Reinforcements could be simply included in the CNC machining part’s structural matrix for enhanced mechanical properties. Manufacturing utilizing injection molding sometimes requires vital upfront funding in tooling.
